Marie & I

This is Marie Antionette. I has always had a special affinity for this woman. I just adore her. Yes yes, I know she was indulgent and extravagant and even lazy. I simply can't begin to explain why I've always wanted to know more about her.  I think she wasn't half as bad as people said she was. And I think we would have been friends. And that's it.

Helllloooo World!

I have this propensity to be a blogging delinquent! Puhlease forgive my neglectful ways.

Much has happened in the past little bitty bit. We were blessed to hear inspired words in the latest session of our church's general conference.

This quote is one of my favorites. In actuality the quote goes, "I'm a mormon. I know it, I live it, I love it." In actuality I felt little chills everywhere when she (Ann M. Dibb) said that, because, in actuality, I do love it. I love it with my whole heart. And that's actually quite a lot.

Husby and I were able to take advantage of our fall-time break by heading up ole washington way. We love love loved it. Our trip started on a sweet note when a big hairy man gave up his seat so that we could sit together on the plane. What a tremendous fellow, both in size and heart.

This is The Seattle Great Wheel. It was practically our first stop because I have an indulgent husband. The views of the city were incomparable, but dangling high in the cloudy sky prompted us to analyze the hypothetical results of disengagement from the wheel. We decided if we were to fall into the ocean we might have a slight chance for survival if the pod was watertight but, concrete would most certainly lead to our demise.

Awww, we're so cute!

At Pike Place Market there are several flower booths with what I am convinced are the second most delightful arrangements in the state. First place belongs to my sister, because she periodically arranges flowers in Washington. Though I only got to enjoy them for a few days it was totally worth it.

Trevor tried so hard to get a picture of the two fellows who throw the fish, but to no avail. At least he was able to stand where they stood. Also, notice that bag in his hand? That's some delightful gourmet cheese. I have no idea why but he bought cheese everywhere we went.

To Canada!

What an adventure it was! A surly border patrol lady, crazy canadian drivers (no offense mama, you're an excellent driver), winding roads, a french cheese guru, loonies, and gigantic leaves! People ought to watch out for those leaves, they could be dangerous!

We spent the most time strolling down the cobble streets of this little treasure they call Granville Island. It's not really island, but it sure was fun! They had the cutest little shops. I got a fabulous red cocktail ring and trevor got more cheese.

This is Trevor, and he may force me to take this picture down, but I'm going to put it up and explain this hilarious thing he does. It's called phantom, and sometimes when we're driving he'll take advantage of his jacket collar and begin to sing phantom of the opera songs until I beg him to stop. It's very funny. And also maybe a little bit endearing.

Those leaves are almost as big as my husbands cheesy smile!

We had such a great time seeing my much-loved family and it was even raining the whole time!

That's it.

Oh, and we've also got oodles of homework.

And that's really it.

Fall is here!

We are just loving fall in the Nielsen house, it has been wonderful so far!

This is our fall-time wreath. I love. Why can I never finish a project without having to return to Joann's at least three times?

Once upon a time Trevor had a best friend named Taylor. Trevor and Taylor were tight like spandex, but in a good way. Taylor got married to a pretty pretty princess named Ashli. Ashli & Taylor had a baby boy named Carston who was the most darling baby in all the land. This is that baby. We love Taylor and Ashli, and we love Carston.

I made minestrone soup that became minestrone gumbo after a few too many minutes
in the crockpot. It was still yummy and perfectly autumnesque!

I successfully cut my first pineapple. I just thought that was worthy of noting. And celebrating.
